Mirror Mirror: "Rocketman"
It's Taron Egerton's birthday today and he IS Elton John (just like the movie poster says). So how did Taron become “the fat boy from Pinner with glasses called Reggie Dwight” who became a super star song man? It helped his North Node in Aquarius is conjunct Elton's Venus. There are many more "coincidences" in "Mirror Mirror" and it's now available in Kindle! AND we have our first Amazon review and it's a FIVER!! "Love movies, fascinating people and astrology? A book for astrologers and those interested in astrology. Learn about the planet archetypes through biographical films about people whose lives express them. For more advanced astrology, see the connections in charts between the actors the person they played, and even the release date of the film. Thanks for the showing astrology in action, Alex Trenoweth! Mirror Mirror: Erin Brockovich
One from my faves section today! Julia Roberts' portrayed a former beauty queen who took a multi-million dollar company to court and won. It's the actress' birthday today and her Venus/Pluto conjunction is on Erin Brockovich's North Node in Virgo. There are an awful lot of "coincidences" in "Mirror Mirror". Mirror Mirror: 127 Hours
"127 Hours" is not a film for the faint of heart but as it's Aron Ralston's birthday we should pay homage to the man who saved his own life by cutting off his arm after a rock climbing accident. James Franco who played Ralston has his ascedant on the climber's Sun/Uranus conjunction and his MC within three degrees of Ralston's Moon. There are an awful lot of "coincidences" in "Mirror Mirror". The book is available on Amazon or you can buy a personally signed copy here:

Mirror Mirror and Ed Wood
This film was a bit too silly and inaccurate to make the book but nonetheless it is interesting. In "Ed Wood" Bela Lugosi was played by Martin Landeau. Both actors had the same angles and Lugosi, who made a career out of playing a blood-sucking vampire, had both Saturn and Chiron conjunct Algol. Transiting Pluto in Scorpio was exactly opposite when the film was released. Landeau won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. I still have a few copies of "Mirror Mirror" on hand for autographs but you better be quick or you'll have to wait until the next shipment arrives. https://alextrenoweth.co.uk/.../signed-copy-of-mirror.../

Mirror Mirror and Looking for Mr Goodbar
"Looking For Mr Goodbar" was about a teacher of deaf children who moonlighted as a barfly. Murder victim Roseann Quinn (known as Thersa Dunn in the film) had natal Sun and Mars in Scorpio. Diane Keaton had Mars in Cancer and transiting Mars was exactly conjunct this when the film was released on this day (19 October) in 1977. Astrology or coincidence? Mirror Mirror and Ted Bundy
Zac Efron turns 34 today. In 2019, he shocked fans by agreeing to portray the serial killer Ted Bundy. However, Variety magazine praised his performance, saying "Extremely Wicked doesn't rub our noses in the horror of Ted Bundy. It shows us just enough, keeping the horror where it belongs, in the recesses of our imagination, where it remains what it should be: dark as midnight, and altogether too much to fathom." Efron's Saturn in Sagittarius was conjunct the killer's Moon and Jupiter was transiting this point when the film was released. Astrology or coincidence? Signed copies of "Mirror Mirror"
It’s been a busy few days delivering signed copies of “Mirror Mirror: The Astrology of Famous People and the Actors Who Have Portrayed Them” to various outlets in London. However, with things being as they are with travel being so difficult, people from out of town (and the country) have told me they wished they cold have a signed copy too. So I’m super happy to be able to offer a signed copy of “Mirror Mirror: The Astrology of Famous People and the Actors Who Have Portrayed Them”. I’ll sign a copy JUST FOR YOU, package it and take it to the post office to ship it to you. It doesn’t cost extra to have the book signed but postage and packaging fees have to be added (it’s cheaper than travelling to a conference to see me!). If you live in London, I’m happy to bring you a signed copy and have a chat over a pint or cup of tea (email me at alex.trenoweth@gmail.com). Public places only of course. You can also buy unsigned copies from the usual outlets such as Amazon.
If you like film and astrology trivia, why not follow me at mirror_mirror_astrology on Instagram? It’s my new page.
You can also check out my new consultation service from the Cosmic Intelligence Agency. I still focus on family work which you can book here (this is a service for the entire family) and you can still get computer generated reports here.
To give you a taste of what’s inside “Mirror Mirror” here’s the foreword by the wonderful Julia Parker followed by a review from the equally wonderful Victor Olliver.
FOREWORD
Among the many astrology books published each year – each decade, indeed – how many explore a genuinely new idea? It can safely be said that Alex Trenoweth has achieved that goal in a book which is based on a comparison of the charts of famous film actors and of the personalities they have portrayed for the cinema.
A physical impersonation and spectacular make-up is one thing, but to give the impression even for just 120 minutes, that Mrs Thatcher or Linda Chamberlain are actually on-screen before us requires some kind of indefinable theatrical magic. Magic – or astrology? In her intriguing book Ms Trenoweth examines over a hundred examples of the synastry between actors and their biographical roles. The results are of course variable, as in almost all astrological books concerning synastry, but here, in almost every case, one follows the author’s arguments with eager interest.
This is a book not only for the astrologer with a thorough knowledge of the subject, but – spectacularly – for those with a keen, developing interest. A certain amount of knowledge is of course essential when reading, for instance, the separate chapters on the planets – and Chiron and the nodes – but the enthusiastic film-goer will find enormous interest in those which deal, in the core of the book, with the relationship between the actor and his or her subject. The interest broadens when Ms Trenoweth (whose knowledge of astrology and film history run side by side, with neither one in advance of the other) looks at a range of actors who have played the same character – for example, Harry Houdini, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Stephen Hawking.
I must have seen a good dozen Hamlets at the theatre: how I would have liked to read Ms Trenoweth speculate on, say, Peter O’Toole’s disastrous performance – what, in his chart, betrays his inability to play the introvert Lawrence with such spectacular insight, when he seemed to have no intuitive connection at all with the introvert Prince? How did the planets at birth encourage John Gielgud to be the finest Hamlet of our time, when that fine actor Jude Law failed to reach the heights? Perhaps another book by another astrologer – but with this book, remember, Alex Trenoweth, comes first. Huckleberry Finn, reading Pilgrim’s Progress, found ‘the statement was interesting, but tough.’ This author’s statements are interesting and far from tough. It deserves to be the bedside book of the year.

Lady Sings the Blues
For you fellow jazz lovers. . ."Lady Sings the Blues" (about the wonderful Billie Holiday played by the equally wonderful Motown legend Diana Ross) was released 12 October 1972. Billie had Jupiter in Pisces (in its rulership) at 14 degrees whilst Diana has her Venus in Pisces (in its exaltation) at 12 degrees. The film is essentially about Billie's sad decline into drug addiction but is filled with her wonderful music, performed by Ross. Oh and the film was released during their Saturn returns. Looking for Richard
Richard III was the baddest of Shakespeare's baddies (and my favourite) and he appears in the section of my book where one character is portrayed by different actors in different films. "Looking for Richard", released on this day (11 October) in 1996 featured Al Pacino as the Bad Boy. It was a strange accent for a British king but what can you expect when the actor's Uranus is on Richard III's descendant? Gorillas in the Mist
Sigourney Weaver and Dian Fossey both have the Moon at 5 Taurus (yup they're timed AA charts). Sigourney, who celebrates her birthday today, was nominated for Best Actress at the 1989 Academy Awards and to this day she supports the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Transiting Pluto was opposite to their Moons when the film was released thus uniting them in their passion to protect these beautiful animals. I'm delighted to hear so many are enjoying "Mirror Mirror"! You can purchase your copy here: mybook.to/MirrorM

Mirror Mirror: Iris
Today is the lovely Kate Winslet's birthday. In "Iris" she played the young, rebellious, free-spirited, non-conforming, skinny dipping author Iris Murdoch. Kate has Venus at 0 Virgo opposite to Iris's Uranus at 1 Pisces. Coincidence or Astrology? "Mirror Mirror" contains over 100 films with about 1,000 more of these "coincidences". I'm delighted to hear friends on the West Coast are receiving their copies and that for my Australian friends, the wait won't be too long before you receive yours. Londoners!! I'll be popping into the Astrology Shop and Watkins to drop off some signed copies very soon! You can order your copy online too.

Astrological Dreamwork: Out With a Bang
I love Astrological Dreamwork because our subconscious very often gives us such a great insight into complicated situations and emotions. In this interpretation, the Dreamer wanted to make a quick exit to stage left. But things take a rather unusual turn. Whatever could it mean?
By the way, if you’d like a dream interpreted, I can help. I know how disturbing dreams can be and understanding them is a great source of comfort. Please see my products page to book an appointment.

The Dream
The Dreamer says: “I had been at a conference and knew I was not welcome. I could feel the hostility but, as I do in such situations, I completely ignored this and concentrated on what I was there to do, which was to deliver some books.
“A former friend pulled me aside and asked me to clarify something and seemed completely astounded by my account of events. We made amends with me saying something like “And I’m never going to talk about this again” and I went on to complete my task. On my way out of the building, I had to quickly walk through a banquet hall just before festivities were about to start. With the books delivered, I was more than happy to be on my way.
“I saw someone with whom I have had an off-on relationship with (an SO) sitting at a table and he seemed stunned to see me so I pretended I didn’t see him. He jumped up from the table to try to stop me and when I ignored him, he grabbed me by the hand. I stopped and turned because I didn’t want anyone to see us. But we were standing in front of everyone. I tried to be all cool but he insisted I follow him by pulling me in the opposite direction. My thinking was that if I didn’t make a fuss, no one would pay us attention. So I let him lead me by the hand, past the Master of Ceremonies (and a mutual friend) who was about to make a speech.
“The MC looked at us, looked at us holding hands and said into the mic: “You have got to be kidding me.” This was said in a tone that expressed surprise yet also seemed to explain something. There was this murmur in the crowd so we both knew everyone had either seen us or were talking about us. I can’t remember any further.”
The Symbols
The main symbols in the dream are:
–A large public event
–The feeling of being disliked
–Reconciliation with friends
–Being acknowledged when wanting to make a quick, unassuming getaway
–Holding hands with a SO
The Meaning
This dream is a really good example of how recent events affect the Dreamworld. The Dreamer had been talking about a conference with the SO and how much they didn’t enjoy attending. There had been a certain level of animosity concerning the Dreamer, the SO and their circle of friends. Before the dream, the SO had been talking about someone who has created a lot of previously unknown problems for the Dreamer (in this case also with the former friend who had not spoken to her in several years ever since an alleged ‘incident’ with an adversary).
In the dream chart, Venus, the chart ruler, is opposite to Uranus so the Dreamer was feeling disconnected from everyone at the conference. The Venus of the dream chart is exactly square the Dreamer’s natal Mercury which may explain the challenge of delivering those books in terms of difficult emotions (also Venus was square Saturn and we both have harsh Venus-Saturn contacts natally).
The Mercury of the dream is on the ascendant in Libra, ruling the 9thhouse of the dream and is trine to Jupiter in Aquarius in the 4thhouse. Hence, aside from feeling that she shouldn’t be there, there was no difficulty in doing what she needed to do. And then of course thinking she could make a quick getaway. The Dreamer also indicated the dream was a good connection in terms of other recent events (the SO signing a contract and the Dreamer with a newly published book).
The Pisces Full Moon could indicate a rescue/rescuer theme. However, the Dreamer resisted being rescued and more intent on showing how unbothered she was. The SO was persistent and wouldn’t release her hand and the Dreamer just accepted. Mercury of course, as the ruler of the 9th, is about hands. On reflection, the Dreamer remembered the SO’s hands exactly as they were in real life.
The Dreamer confirmed that recent events indeed had a profound impact on the dream and reflected. She adds that she felt her exit was the best possible outcome for a tricky situation and the she woke up in a state of happiness.

Great Reads!
I’ve been quieter than usual this summer as I recover from my father’s death. Grief is an odd thing I’ve discovered and just when I think I’m getting better, I get my ass kicked. But now it’s back to school time, I’m pushing myself to be productive. I need to be distracted. Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to dive into some great reads.

Now Back to Those Great Reads!
The President of the Astrological Association, Roy Gillett, sent me a copy of his book “Working With the Planets” a few weeks ago. The work contains over 20 years of his contributions to his column of the same name for the Astrological Journal. Although politics are not a particular interest to me, I was immediately impressed with the sheer devotion it would take to follow current events and then write about them so passionately and with such regularlity. It was like reading a multidimensional account from newspapers, TV, magazines, books, blogs and of course astrology. I feel like I’m catching up with all the stuff I’ve missed for the past 20 years.
My friend Anne Whitaker was good enough to write a review for the new edition of “Growing Pains” a few years back. I was delighted to be given the opportunity to return the favour. “Postcards to the Future: Mercurial Musings 1995-2021” arrived a few days ago. The premise of the book is similar to “Working with the Planets” in that it is a compilation of astrology articles. Anne’s blog, “Writing from the Twelth House”, is one I have occassionally dipped into. Her essays answer questions from readers, cover current events and even spar with controversial material.
It would be completely unfair to compare these two books except to say I can feel how much both authors poured themselves into their work. Reading these books felt like I was examining their hearts and souls. It was terrifically moving to have been given the privilige.
I’ll be writing fuller reviews of both books for Amazon and Good Reads, etc and doing interview with both authors once I finish digesting the contents. I’m a fast, greedy reader and I feel I need to luxuriate in the captured knowledge for a few days and maybe go back and read my favourite parts at a slower pace.
Back to Me
Anne and I have been bantering about self promotion. (I’ve seen Roy lecture and I know he doesn’t need the bantering, lol). I have little mantra that goes like this: “She that tooteth not her own horn, the same shall not be tooteth!” I was a little shy about promoting myself when “Growing Pains” came out in 2013 and let’s just say I got over that shyness pretty quick. Anne, on the other hand, tells me she hides behind the 12th house couch. I’ve been coaxing her but a fellow Leo Moon can’t fool me! We’ll be hearing a lot more from Anne very soon. As I told her, sometimes my Cancer Sun is completely mortified by what my Leo Moon puts us up to. But we all seem to get along just fine. Self promotion is all a part of the rich tapestry of an author’s life.
All Hail to the Victor!
Anne and Roy’s books have something else in common: Victor Olliver, the editor of the Astrological Journal . And this brings me to my news: the Journal has just published an extract of my upcoming book “Mirror Mirror: Famous People and the Actors Who Have Portrayed Them”. Victor has faithfully edited Roy’s columns for years and he was a huge support for Anne too. As for his part in my book, he was the first person–aside from me, my publisher and the printer–to hold the first version of the manuscript. I watched him carefully as he flipped through and I sighed in relief as he nodded his approval. It’s a great moment for an author when a respected editor tells you that you have something good. So thank you Victor for all your encouragement!
The journey of the book was a twisted one. I watched over 200 biopics with my kitty Mr Bubbles, the last one being “Lawrence of Arabia” which ended up being my furry baby’s last night this side of the rainbow bridge. Mr Bubbles was also my writing companion and he would often lay on my left arm, purring contentedly, as I furiously typed with my right hand. The actual writing of the book only took about 6 weeks but the bloody CHARTS (all 400 of them!) had to be verified, then re-verified, checked again and then checked again. Our data sources kept updating unexpectedly too so we had to update. The editing process took over a year. BUT we are nearly there! And thank the great goddess for that! So keep checking in (or sign up for my newsletter) for news about the book launch, the interviews and other good stuff.
But in the meantime, enjoy these great reads!
