In "Ed Wood" Bela Lugosi was played by Martin Landeau. Both actors had the same angles and Lugosi, who made a career out of playing a blood-sucking vampire, had both Saturn and Chiron conjunct Algol. Transiting Pluto in Scorpio was exactly opposite when the film was released. Landeau won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. In 2019, he shocked fans by agreeing to portray the serial killer Ted Bundy. However, Variety magazine praised his performance, saying "Extremely Wicked doesn't rub our noses in the horror of Ted Bundy. It shows us just enough, keeping the horror where it belongs, in the recesses of our imagination, where it remains what it should be: dark as midnight, and altogether too much to fathom." You can also buy unsigned copies from the usual outlets such as</span><span style="font-family: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; orphans: 2; widows: 2;"> </span><a href="http://my.book.to/MirrorM" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; orphans: 2; outline: none; padding: 0px; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; widows: 2;">Amazon.</a></span><p></p><div class="page" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: Arial; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; widows: 2;" title="Page 9"><div class="layoutArea" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div class="column" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; float: left; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 8.5625px 40px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">If you like film and astrology trivia, why not follow me at mirror_mirror_astrology on Instagram? It can safely be said that Alex Trenoweth has achieved that goal in a book which is based on a comparison of the charts of famous film actors and of the personalities they have portrayed for the cinema.</span></p><p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">A physical impersonation and spectacular make-up is one thing, but to give the impression even for just 120 minutes, that Mrs Thatcher or Linda Chamberlain are actually on-screen before us requires some kind of indefinable theatrical magic. Magic – or astrology? In her intriguing book Ms Trenoweth examines over a hundred examples of the synastry between actors and their biographical roles. The results are of course variable, as in almost all astrological books concerning synastry, but here, in almost every case, one follows the author’s arguments with eager interest.</span></p><p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">This is a book not only for the astrologer with a thorough knowledge of the subject, but – spectacularly – for those with a keen, developing interest. A certain amount of knowledge is of course essential when reading, for instance, the separate chapters on the planets – and Chiron and the nodes – but the enthusiastic film-goer will find enormous interest in those which deal, in the core of the book, with the relationship between the actor and his or her subject. The interest broadens when Ms Trenoweth (whose knowledge of astrology and film history run side by side, with neither one in advance of the other) looks at a range of actors who have played the same character – for example, Harry Houdini, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Victoria and Stephen Hawking.</span></p><p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">I must have seen a good dozen Hamlets at the theatre: how I would have liked to read Ms Trenoweth speculate on, say, Peter O’Toole’s disastrous performance – what, in his chart, betrays his inability to play the introvert Lawrence with such spectacular insight, when he seemed to have no intuitive connection at all with the introvert Prince? How did the planets at birth encourage John Gielgud to be the finest Hamlet of our time, when that fine actor Jude Law failed to reach the heights? Perhaps another book by another astrologer – but with this book, remember, Alex Trenoweth, comes first. Huckleberry Finn, reading Pilgrim’s Progress, found ‘the statement was interesting, but tough.’ This author’s statements are interesting and far from tough. It deserves to be the bedside book of the year.</span></p></div></div></div><div class="page" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: Arial; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; orphans: 2; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; widows: 2;" title="Page 10"><div class="layoutArea" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div class="column" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; float: left; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 8.5625px 40px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><p style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">--Julia Parker 2021</span></p><div class="kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><h2 dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: Lato, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-alternates: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-variant-east-asian: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-variant-position: inherit; font-weight: 300; letter-spacing: 0px; line-height: 42px; margin: 0px 0px 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">REVIEW</span></h2><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The moment I opened Mirror Mirror, memories were revived. Before astrology beckoned me rather late in life (thank you, Saturn) I reviewed movies and attended film festivals – Cannes being by far the most glamorous and cool. I was transported back to the Palais des Festivals, the vast entertainment hub of Cannes on the Croisette, and heard once again Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, the ‘Aquarium’ movement in particular which was played on a loop morning, noon and night, year after year, in the Palais’ public halls and corridors. I didn’t know it then, but Cannes had enjoined the movies showcased with a piece of music that summons up dreams and magical phantasms of reality (as well as an aquarium) – Neptune in a word. In modern astrology, Neptune rules the movie, the arena of light illusion, all that appears real but is not. Unwittingly, the organisers of Cannes had found the perfect Neptunian, watery serenade for the celluloid fodder of the dream factories.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Another one of those…coincidences.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Mirror Mirror takes us into the domain of Neptune for an amazing and original exploration. As a film buff herself, Alex Trenoweth started to notice the astrological connections between real-life stories and the illusory renditions on the big screen, and between the real people portrayed (such as Oscar Wilde or Elizabeth I) and the actors hired to portray them. We may say, for instance, that Taron Egerton gives us a remarkably good impression of Elton John in Rocketman, but only an astrologer can make something of the Sun/Moon conjunction in the two men’s synastry which enabled the actor to get under the skin of the subject and persuade us that he was in effect Elton John.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Trenoweth puts a hundred movies under the astro-microscope, supported by hundreds of charts – mostly biwheels and triwheels. She rewatched all the movies under discussion, with Mr Bubbles by her side, her pet cat who has since departed for purr-heaven. And what helps make this an astounding book is its structure which ensures that a love of the movies does not eclipse the astrology.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">This is achieved quite simply by allotting each of the planets and lunar points its own chapter with a selection of films that share its astrological themes. As Trenoweth explains in her Introduction, films are categorised “by the planet that showed the strongest synastry between character and actor”. So, to take one planetary example, Pluto embraces A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, Al Capone, Madame Curie and Schindler’s List because each features highly transformative, Plutonian themes. But also, there are interesting aspects and synastry involving Pluto: Greer Garson, for example, was perfect to play Marie Curie, a scientist who researched radioactivity, because Garson’s Pluto (radioactivity) was conjunct her own MC (career).</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Another wise move structurally was the decision only to look at the films that are about real people living or dead – this roots the astrological associations in an origin actuality, a discrete starting point from which to trace the links that take us into the filmic dream. And the astrology.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Trenoweth imposes a disciplined, set format on each movie analysis, upholding order, and this reminds us that this is not a book to be confused with the spirit of Photoplay. Under each title, birth data of selected starring performers is set out before Trenoweth treats us to a faithful synopsis of the storyline. Then she moves to the aspects and synastry. So, in the case of Wilde in the Venus chapter – the biopic of Oscar Wilde’s decline and fall starring Stephen Fry – it is significant that the two men’s Venuses in Libra are conjunct, and that Fry’s MC sits on Wilde’s North Node. This aspect alone suggests a fated quality to Fry’s uncanny conjuring up of Wilde, as if he were born to play the part. (Arguably, Fry has never done anything better since the brilliance of his Wilde.)</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Trenoweth also notes that Fry’s co-star Jude Law’s Pluto in Libra is conjunct the Moon of Lord Alfred Douglas, aka the infamous Bosie whose affair with Wilde and feud with his own father were largely responsible for Wilde’s destruction. It is as if the astrological dynamics of the actual story are played out at a filmic level in an interplay of matching cosmic energies – crossing boundaries of time, personal identity, fact and fiction, and locations – a mirroring only to be found in the horoscope.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Countless other new things are to be discovered in this compendious book. In the later chapter Multiple Versions, Trenoweth revisits those famous people whose lives have been turned into more than one biopic, people like Ted Bundy or Stephen Hawking. My favourite chapter is…Favourites, at the back of the book, comprising the flicks that have turned Trenoweth into a fangirl. I share a lot of her loves. I was most pleased to see Michael Douglas’ Liberace film Behind the Candelabra – not strictly a big screen film but a TV movie, largely thanks to Hollywood studio homophobia – analysed, as well as the Meryl Streep classic Julie & Julia. The astrological connections in these and many other films are breath-taking.</span></div></div><div class="o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><div dir="auto" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; border: 0px; box-sizing: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: medium;">If ever a book should come with a carton of popcorn, it’s Mirror Mirror. Billie had Jupiter in Pisces (in its rulership) at 14 degrees whilst Diana has her Venus in Pisces (in its exaltation) at 12 degrees. The film is essentially about Billie's sad decline into drug addiction but is filled with her wonderful music, performed by Ross. Oh and the film was released during their Saturn returns. "Looking for Richard", released on this day (11 October) in 1996 featured Al Pacino as the Bad Boy. It was a strange accent for a British king but what can you expect when the actor's Uranus is on Richard III's descendant? There are an awful lot of astrological "coincidences" in "Mirror Mirror" and you can purchase your very own copy here: </span><span style="caret-color: rgb(5, 5, 5); color: #050505; font-family: system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, ".SFNSText-Regular", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; white-space: pre-wrap;"><a class="oajrlxb2 g5ia77u1 qu0x051f esr5mh6w e9989ue4 r7d6kgcz rq0escxv nhd2j8a9 nc684nl6 p7hjln8o kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x jb3vyjys rz4wbd8a qt6c0cv9 a8nywdso i1ao9s8h esuyzwwr f1sip0of lzcic4wl py34i1dx gpro0wi8" href="http://mybook.to/MirrorM?fbclid=IwAR1wonrvAWgNI6dpLDuKYcK_pHHEmIugv8qqNAOyIo51u-5g9EFOBHRK7m8" rel="nofollow noopener" role="link" style="border: 0px; box-sizing: border-box; color: var(--blue-link); cursor: pointer; display: inline; font-family: inherit; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: none; padding: 0px; text-align: inherit; text-decoration: none;" tabindex="0" target="_blank">mybook.to/MirrorM</a></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlnTi3FTw0pVkhT3_O7zM6lwlyy5cxppj-vuWXBjgIS2P_MIKQAcb6XkcZ68dho00fO-Q9ehqex3PH6Colc9R7bwXEw4oXgGB5ADoXKDUtzQnws6s0WVUbHmBGchC5z0PyE8DOV3VYNPS1/s1080/Untitled+design+%25281%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlnTi3FTw0pVkhT3_O7zM6lwlyy5cxppj-vuWXBjgIS2P_MIKQAcb6XkcZ68dho00fO-Q9ehqex3PH6Colc9R7bwXEw4oXgGB5ADoXKDUtzQnws6s0WVUbHmBGchC5z0PyE8DOV3VYNPS1/s320/Untitled+design+%25281%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Alex Trenowethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07488704525403355189noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7143782165289874885.post-37783722033289553852021-10-08T17:43:00.002+01:002021-10-08T17:43:27.615+01:00Gorillas in the Mist<p> <span style="background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(5, 5, 5); color: #050505; font-family: system-ui, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, ".SFNSText-Regular", sans-serif; font-size: 15px; white-space: pre-wrap;">Sigourney Weaver and Dian Fossey both have the Moon at 5 Taurus (yup they're timed AA charts). In "Iris" she played the young, rebellious, free-spirited, non-conforming, skinny dipping author Iris Murdoch. Kate has Venus at 0 Virgo opposite to Iris's Uranus at 1 Pisces. Coincidence or Astrology? "Mirror Mirror" contains over 100 films with about 1,000 more of these "coincidences". I'm delighted to hear friends on the West Coast are receiving their copies and that for my Australian friends, the wait won't be too long before you receive yours. Londoners!! I'll be popping into the Astrology Shop and Watkins to drop off some signed copies very soon! I could feel the hostility but, as I do in such situations, I completely ignored this and concentrated on what I was there to do, which was to deliver some books.</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">“A former friend pulled me aside and asked me to clarify something and seemed completely astounded by my account of events. We made amends with me saying something like “And I’m never going to talk about this again” and I went on to complete my task. On my way out of the building, I had to quickly walk through a banquet hall just before festivities were about to start. With the books delivered, I was more than happy to be on my way. </p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">“I saw someone with whom I have had an off-on relationship with (an SO) sitting at a table and he seemed stunned to see me so I pretended I didn’t see him. He jumped up from the table to try to stop me and when I ignored him, he grabbed me by the hand. I stopped and turned because I didn’t want anyone to see us. But we were standing in front of everyone. I tried to be all cool but he insisted I follow him by pulling me in the opposite direction. My thinking was that if I didn’t make a fuss, no one would pay us attention. So I let him lead me by the hand, past the Master of Ceremonies (and a mutual friend) who was about to make a speech. </p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">“The MC looked at us, looked at us holding hands and said into the mic: “You have got to be kidding me.” This was said in a tone that expressed surprise yet also seemed to explain something. There was this murmur in the crowd so we both knew everyone had either seen us or were talking about us. I can’t remember any further.”</p><h2 style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 1.43em; max-width: 100%;">The Symbols</h2><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">The main symbols in the dream are:</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">–A large public event</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">–The feeling of being disliked</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">–Reconciliation with friends</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">–Being acknowledged when wanting to make a quick, unassuming getaway</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">–Holding hands with a SO</p><h2 style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 1.43em; max-width: 100%;">The Meaning</h2><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;"><img src="blob:https://www.blogger.com/525c05d8-7bd9-4c49-bb13-6876f8e4e0b0" /></p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">This dream is a really good example of how recent events affect the Dreamworld. The Dreamer had been talking about a conference with the SO and how much they didn’t enjoy attending. There had been a certain level of animosity concerning the Dreamer, the SO and their circle of friends. Before the dream, the SO had been talking about someone who has created a lot of previously unknown problems for the Dreamer (in this case also with the former friend who had not spoken to her in several years ever since an alleged ‘incident’ with an adversary). </p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">In the dream chart, Venus, the chart ruler, is opposite to Uranus so the Dreamer was feeling disconnected from everyone at the conference. The Venus of the dream chart is exactly square the Dreamer’s natal Mercury which may explain the challenge of delivering those books in terms of difficult emotions (also Venus was square Saturn and we both have harsh Venus-Saturn contacts natally). </p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">The Mercury of the dream is on the ascendant in Libra, ruling the 9thhouse of the dream and is trine to Jupiter in Aquarius in the 4thhouse. Hence, aside from feeling that she shouldn’t be there, there was no difficulty in doing what she needed to do. And then of course thinking she could make a quick getaway. The Dreamer also indicated the dream was a good connection in terms of other recent events (the SO signing a contract and the Dreamer with a newly published book). </p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">The Pisces Full Moon could indicate a rescue/rescuer theme. However, the Dreamer resisted being rescued and more intent on showing how unbothered she was. The SO was persistent and wouldn’t release her hand and the Dreamer just accepted. Mercury of course, as the ruler of the 9th, is about hands. On reflection, the Dreamer remembered the SO’s hands exactly as they were in real life.</p><p style="caret-color: rgb(79, 50, 28); font-family: -apple-system-font; font-size: 18px; max-width: 100%;">The Dreamer confirmed that recent events indeed had a profound impact on the dream and reflected. She adds that she felt her exit was the best possible outcome for a tricky situation and the she woke up in a state of happiness.</p>Alex Trenowethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07488704525403355189noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7143782165289874885.post-13327164270376826182021-09-06T19:26:00.002+01:002021-09-06T19:26:55.801+01:00Great Reads!<p>I’ve been quieter than usual this summer as I recover from my father’s death. Fortunately for me, I’ve been able to dive into some great reads.</p><h2>Quick Commercial Break!</h2><p>How could even think about starting the school year without knowing where Jupiter is this year? The work contains over 20 years of his contributions to his column of the same name for the Astrological Journal. Although politics are not a particular interest to me, I was immediately impressed with the sheer devotion it would take to follow current events and then write about them so passionately and with such regularlity. It was like reading a multidimensional account from newspapers, TV, magazines, books, blogs and of course astrology. I feel like I’m catching up with all the stuff I’ve missed for the past 20 years.</p><p>My friend Anne Whitaker was good enough to write a review for the new edition of “Growing Pains” a few years back. I was delighted to be given the opportunity to return the favour. “<a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Postcards-Future-Mercurial-Musings-1995-2021/dp/B09CRTXHGW/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1T429ZZ3MPID6&dchild=1&keywords=postcards+to+the+future+anne+whitaker&qid=1630935105&sr=8-1" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Postcards to the Future: Mercurial Musings 1995-2021</a>” arrived a few days ago. The premise of the book is similar to “Working with the Planets” in that it is a compilation of astrology articles. Anne’s blog, “Writing from the Twelth House”, is one I have occassionally dipped into. Her essays answer questions from readers, cover current events and even spar with controversial material.</p><p>It would be completely unfair to compare these two books except to say I can feel how much both authors poured themselves into their work. Reading these books felt like I was examining their hearts and souls. It was terrifically moving to have been given the privilige.</p><p>I’ll be writing fuller reviews of both books for Amazon and Good Reads, etc and doing interview with both authors once I finish digesting the contents. I’m a fast, greedy reader and I feel I need to luxuriate in the captured knowledge for a few days and maybe go back and read my favourite parts at a slower pace.</p><h2>Back to Me</h2><p>Anne and I have been bantering about self promotion. (I’ve seen Roy lecture and I know he doesn’t need the bantering, lol). I have little mantra that goes like this: “She that tooteth not her own horn, the same shall not be tooteth!” I was a little shy about promoting myself when “Growing Pains” came out in 2013 and let’s just say I got over that shyness pretty quick. Anne, on the other hand, tells me she hides behind the 12th house couch. I’ve been coaxing her but a fellow Leo Moon can’t fool me! We’ll be hearing a lot more from Anne very soon. As I told her, sometimes my Cancer Sun is completely mortified by what my Leo Moon puts us up to. But we all seem to get along just fine. Self promotion is all a part of the rich tapestry of an author’s life.</p><h2>All Hail to the Victor!</h2><p>Anne and Roy’s books have something else in common: Victor Olliver, the editor of the <a href="https://www.astrologicalassociation.com/product/aj6305/?fbclid=IwAR0DiHavpdpMjiLlxJdtehFuDpwKn5sgrZPX5jEt1rmXVQANEx7ImWG4YC0" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Astrological Journal</a> . And this brings me to my news: the Journal has just published an extract of my upcoming book “Mirror Mirror: Famous People and the Actors Who Have Portrayed Them”. Victor has faithfully edited Roy’s columns for years and he was a huge support for Anne too. As for his part in my book, he was the first person–aside from me, my publisher and the printer–to hold the first version of the manuscript. I watched him carefully as he flipped through and I sighed in relief as he nodded his approval. It’s a great moment for an author when a respected editor tells you that you have something good. So thank you Victor for all your encouragement!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxKbFqhYtL4uqaiP1sPh7gl4gZIhWE_BLODQHJjea9TKGoVMfzHh1WMy731q9rNktr2Q2Zaznq7uRUc1CkwB_pe4VMrH3P0h4JYJ6JUDfRnG4Het0F8zDk1mUNyZ-qceyjqy2HSBHyBIvD/s1440/240604691_10158003225492414_1802928700726987418_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1440" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxKbFqhYtL4uqaiP1sPh7gl4gZIhWE_BLODQHJjea9TKGoVMfzHh1WMy731q9rNktr2Q2Zaznq7uRUc1CkwB_pe4VMrH3P0h4JYJ6JUDfRnG4Het0F8zDk1mUNyZ-qceyjqy2HSBHyBIvD/s320/240604691_10158003225492414_1802928700726987418_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>The journey of the book was a twisted one. I watched over 200 biopics with my kitty Mr Bubbles, the last one being “Lawrence of Arabia” which ended up being my furry baby’s last night this side of the rainbow bridge. Mr Bubbles was also my writing companion and he would often lay on my left arm, purring contentedly, as I furiously typed with my right hand. The actual writing of the book only took about 6 weeks but the bloody CHARTS (all 400 of them!) had to be verified, then re-verified, checked again and then checked again. Our data sources kept updating unexpectedly too so we had to update. The editing process took over a year. BUT we are nearly there! And thank the great goddess for that! So keep checking in (or sign up for my newsletter) for news about the book launch, the interviews and other good stuff.</p><p>But in the meantime, enjoy these great reads!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyjRor7dAUu-BX6cdXc8hvpH0gVZxlV8tRlOegkyoU5kvMEUMHXyo025cwP1s9DpTFiBbZzRAQpsEGD-Ju0Izx50ArKcd8NE43Tde9n5BfL9YiGq-SIdB64AR15tH08CHu9nab9dFMkvK-/s640/IMG_0925.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="640" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyjRor7dAUu-BX6cdXc8hvpH0gVZxlV8tRlOegkyoU5kvMEUMHXyo025cwP1s9DpTFiBbZzRAQpsEGD-Ju0Izx50ArKcd8NE43Tde9n5BfL9YiGq-SIdB64AR15tH08CHu9nab9dFMkvK-/s320/IMG_0925.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Alex Trenowethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07488704525403355189noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7143782165289874885.post-57606458883422914902021-08-31T17:58:00.003+01:002021-08-31T17:58:31.009+01:00ISAR Star Club Intensive. . .with me!<p> <span data-offset-key="f6els-0-0" style="caret-color: rgb(5, 5, 5); color: #050505; font-family: inherit; font-size: 15px; white-space: pre-wrap;">I'm doing the next ISAR intensive on Saturday. <h3>
And we have a baby boy!</h3>
<div>
Congratulations to the Royal family!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The new baby was born 23 April 2018 (St George's Day!!) at 11:01am, just out of orb for Venus conjunct Algol like his father and Princess Diana. But what a planetary connection for the new baby! His ascendant is on big brother's Sun and his Venus is on big brother's descendant (which is conjunct Algol!). And with the Sun conjunct Uranus in the 10th, I really don't have to change the title of this post--Royal Rebel indeed!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
With Moon in Leo at 9 degrees, he's bound to be a hit with his great grandmother the Queen who has the Moon in Leo at 12 degrees. They also have a Sun conjunction!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVV8viKp9d2VPN7uPAzrWylm9lg0YTrZm9w1Zmp1Szn7TGs1ImrruABVaXlIH6xyshuCqR1FaIDb5hQkuqP3YSRFeWDTi39AkUlv1EhHawmDlkEU-dyN2z8kB2rhi-5V111WMjbIYPNnmZ/s1600/Royal+Baby+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="533" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVV8viKp9d2VPN7uPAzrWylm9lg0YTrZm9w1Zmp1Szn7TGs1ImrruABVaXlIH6xyshuCqR1FaIDb5hQkuqP3YSRFeWDTi39AkUlv1EhHawmDlkEU-dyN2z8kB2rhi-5V111WMjbIYPNnmZ/s320/Royal+Baby+3.jpg" width="192" /></a>It was VERY quickly noted by other astrologers that the new baby also has Chiron conjunct the MC and already there is speculation that there's going to be another healer in the family.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As a teacher, I'm eyeing up retrograde <a href="https://alextrenoweth.co.uk/jupiter-in-scorpio-pupils-like-royal-baby-3/">Jupiter in Scorpio</a> and <a href="https://alextrenoweth.co.uk/saturn-in-capricorn-the-hard-reign/">Saturn in Capricorn</a> which can affect the important transits during adolescence. The baby will have 3 Jupiter passes for his first Jupiter return in 2030 and a single Saturn opposition in 2033.<br />
<br />
With Jupiter in Scorpio, growth through learning is pursued with passion and intensity. My experience in teaching these learners is that it takes a little time to get them fired up, but once they are hooked on a topic, it can be hard to get them onto something else (more on Jupiter in Scorpio learners <a href="https://alextrenoweth.co.uk/jupiter-in-scorpio-pupils-like-royal-baby-3/">here</a>). They tend to be good researchers and aren't afraid to explore where other explorers fear to tread. The Queens' MC and Saturn are conjunct the baby's Jupiter in the 4th--it would seem her work ethic will have quite an effect on his emotional life. Maybe he'll take his official duties a little too seriously.<br />
<br />
Saturn is in <a href="https://alextrenoweth.co.uk/saturn-in-capricorn-the-hard-reign/">rulership in Capricorn</a>. This is discipline with a capital D. But this new baby has his Pluto and Mars conjunct Queen Elizabeth's ascendant (in Capricorn) so I'm thinking his Saturn opposition in 2033 (in Cancer) may have a little to do with shake ups in the family at this time (the Queen of course will probably not be in any shape to be on the throne and Prince Charles might not be in such great shape either--but the new baby does have his Sun conjunct Charles' North Node). The opposition also falls in the 6-12th house axis so there may be changes in duties during this time. During this time, T Saturn will be square to dad's Mars in Libra.<br />
<br />
If the Royal family (or anyone else is interested in more information on the astrology of education, <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Growing-Pains-Adolescence-Alex-Trenoweth/dp/1910531227/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1524491171&sr=8-14&keywords=trenoweth">my book is available here!</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here's an earlier post about Princess Charlotte and the Algol connections when she was born a few years ago:</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7PyQKLJX264O5j003fT00k4Jnm3fHCESi94T5T0pGQD3cKakN03kPeVh_4puQUq3xtIScmznOeazyIJqN7Ei9ivKKdrGDnB1Cj6Ivrbf1I5RzqNXXDtTQ0McPc17Zxaxr_FunLYurP_3L/s1600/Charlotte.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7PyQKLJX264O5j003fT00k4Jnm3fHCESi94T5T0pGQD3cKakN03kPeVh_4puQUq3xtIScmznOeazyIJqN7Ei9ivKKdrGDnB1Cj6Ivrbf1I5RzqNXXDtTQ0McPc17Zxaxr_FunLYurP_3L/s320/Charlotte.jpg" width="320" /></a>Astrological characteristics between generations always have a tale to tell because certain features in astrology charts can often be traced in the family bloodline. For example, like her grandmother Princess Diana, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Charlotte_of_Cambridge">Princess Charlotte of Cambridge</a> has a Moon-Uranus opposition--so the House of Windsor had better batten down the hatches!! Also, the new baby's Mars is almost in conjunction with Algol (William and Diana have <a href="https://alextrenoweth.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/caput-algol.html">Venus conjunct Algol</a>) so it's a very interesting, if a little intense, chart indeed! Baby brother George's descendant is conjunct Algol and little sister's Mars so don't bet on these two cherubs getting on very well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The baby's ascendant is conjunct her father's Moon and Grandma Di's Mercury. How adorable is that? We may not have Diana here with us physically but it's so wonderful this new baby has inherited the old Spencer charm. How lovely to have named her Charlotte Elizabeth Diana!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBi7QDxRj_jhv_OP8kWosvL6oTZlFqiT9LPKcr-YSYvgKTmnYpJ5Z1F-SvuWhVpI9Pa_VWZatm-iZ8uIEXqyrP7CvguQsISq20HxvCSXpJN_CpJ6dPPJX5AxkgTxh0i11ohVKF1ZAn-iN/s1600/New+Royal+baby.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="167" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBi7QDxRj_jhv_OP8kWosvL6oTZlFqiT9LPKcr-YSYvgKTmnYpJ5Z1F-SvuWhVpI9Pa_VWZatm-iZ8uIEXqyrP7CvguQsISq20HxvCSXpJN_CpJ6dPPJX5AxkgTxh0i11ohVKF1ZAn-iN/s1600/New+Royal+baby.jpg" width="320" /></a>The ruling planet of the new baby's chart is conjunct William's Pluto and Diana's MC. William is going to be one protective father and god help the paparazzi when the kid hits puberty. You think 'those shots' of a topless Kate made him mad? Just you wait until around August 2026 at her first Jupiter return. With<a href="http://alextrenoweth.com/?page_id=808"> Jupiter in Leo,</a> that girl is going to love the spotlight and hate it when daddy tries to shield her from it. However, her down to earth Sun in Taurus in the 11th might calm this tendency.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8NpDhVDZtCmBX4L54uSp1aIx4z7zhD7IE7EJ0Od3mSELQTecyqNgxgx3DpDcIirl-9_4LGrCMRVS_45-JbNj1wur4iF3yNvXx3qR_XgaO9bpuF3scnEqtL1ZHac1SzCCj3kFH5gEmDFew/s1600/Baby+Windsor.gif" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8NpDhVDZtCmBX4L54uSp1aIx4z7zhD7IE7EJ0Od3mSELQTecyqNgxgx3DpDcIirl-9_4LGrCMRVS_45-JbNj1wur4iF3yNvXx3qR_XgaO9bpuF3scnEqtL1ZHac1SzCCj3kFH5gEmDFew/s1600/Baby+Windsor.gif" width="217" /></a>Another interesting feature of this new baby's chart is Mercury in Gemini opposite to <a href="http://alextrenoweth.com/?page_id=816">Saturn in Sagittarius</a>. Mercury is extra strong in Gemini but with an opposition from Saturn, she may be a little reluctant to hit the books. Of course oppositions mean extremes so we could have a major academic on our hands (Mercury also rules the 3rd house). William's Uranus is conjunct her Saturn so while she may steady him, he may very well encourage that rebellious streak. One possible scenario is that William will encourage her to marry someone who shakes up the royal blood a little (Pluto in Capricorn descendant ruled by Saturn in 5th and Pluto ruling the 5th house).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No doubt there will be more and more astrological commentary on this baby. Personally, I don't like to say too much about babies but as this is a royal one and as I, a British tax payer, am contributing to her upkeep, I reckon I can put my two pence in!</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I still think we need a few more early nights!</td></tr>

<div>
Well. . .if one is going to invoke chaos (as only someone with Saturn in Pisces can!), one had better learn to love it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And I don't know, I must have been walking around with a chaos magnet these past couple of weeks.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But it's all good. Honestly.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Gopal Bhattacharjee, his lovely wife Churni and I finally got to celebrate our successful conference together last night. Now we know not everything was perfect, we understand a few things could have gone better but we're pretty sure about one thing: we met our objectives in helping East and West understand each other a little more. We're building a bridge, we expected a little (snork!) argy-bargy and we're enormously grateful for all the support we've received and continue to receive as already we're planning our <a href="http://ivcconference.com/">2020 conference</a>!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I decided I needed a little time away from Kolkata immediately after the conference. I did <br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYI-lHDOlfb3XF_EDzKl-RLfulX1_1m2HPsL3XgfNzTJrPl1-G227yQiHBxr5h1HAFYAVE79Rba36gX9TUwnQLbt4M14vZSA10A1nPOSTQe1GvqF-zjAPNXO-i8Y2uMlU_6cxKDfT9J3DI/s1600/27332261_10215801120525237_6609196056011053442_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="960" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYI-lHDOlfb3XF_EDzKl-RLfulX1_1m2HPsL3XgfNzTJrPl1-G227yQiHBxr5h1HAFYAVE79Rba36gX9TUwnQLbt4M14vZSA10A1nPOSTQe1GvqF-zjAPNXO-i8Y2uMlU_6cxKDfT9J3DI/s320/27332261_10215801120525237_6609196056011053442_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">First time as a bridesmaid with my beautiful Ana in Cape Town</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
question my sanity as I packed for a week long tour because all I wanted to do after the conference was shut myself in a quiet room with the lights off for a few days. I hadn't really even recovered from the jet lag I had accrued during my very brief visit to Cape Town just before the conference. But once the shock of being on yet another plane wore off, and with the support of my fabulous travelling companions, I really had a wonderful adventure. Hanuman ki jai! I'll write more about this in a future blog.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Planning and organising the conference was so intense that I really did put my life on hold. I don't say this to gain sympathy <br />

</tbody></table>
(although I wouldn't mind a little) but just to point out that WHOOSH I suddenly have a lot of things to put back together. So as Gopal and Churni and I clinked our glasses to our successes last night, a few things started to dawn on me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
I just remembered I have a blog that I'm supposed to be maintaining. I'm so far behind. I suddenly remembered this as I frantically was trying to plan a few articles (including one for <a href="https://www.dellhoroscope.com/">Dell Horoscope</a> about the IVC/KIA conference!) I'm supposed be writing whilst I was simultaneously preparing for an interview with the good astrologers of Athens.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
At 3:00 am this morning. I mean I thought I was doing well keeping my Western astrology class going this week.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And then I discovered I didn't actually post my <a href="https://alextrenoweth.blogspot.in/2018/02/christmas-in-kolkata.html">Christmas blog</a> when I got to my office this morning. And I came across a note to myself that read : "Don't forget to book flights to Serbia". And then I remembered I have lectures to prepare for the <a href="http://www.keplerunited.org/conference/14/x.html">Johannes Kepler Institute of Astrological Research and Education</a> in Belgrade next month.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My website still has 2017 yearly horoscopes up. I'm not even going to put the link in until I fix that. Yikes.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I have three books that need to be finished. And several requests for interviews that I need to chase up and a few webinars (one for the <a href="https://www.opaastrology.org/">Organisation for Professional Astrology</a>) that I need to pull together. All of which needs to be done before the <a href="https://www.uacastrology.com/">United Astrology Conference</a> in May.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Of course there's also the conference in Italy in June</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Oh and my teaching agency back in London is on my case.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So all of this is to say, it's been a little crazy. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I like some craziness. I love the chaos of craziness because I work well without too much structure. Actually, I dislike structure altogether but I know other people need it so I just try to roll with it most of the time.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But I honestly think today is just one of those days that I look at the mess and think: "OMG, I need to spend a little time fixing up."</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So I went for a good run at the gym. I'm getting better and I like it a lot better too. I organised my desktop (I can always tell when things are getting the better of me when my desktop is LOADED). And made a plan for catching up that included looking at my diary and making a commitment to clearing some of that massive to-do list.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It's just one of those days I need to take a bit of time to put the pieces back together.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But in the midst of the chaos, I found out another one of my articles will appear in <a href="https://www.dellhoroscope.com/">Dell Horoscope!</a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So you see, it's all good!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'll sign off with a photo of yours truly dancing at our Astrology Mega Party in Kolkata. Why am I posting a photo of my klutzy self dancing? Because I have NEVER been to an astrology conference where everyone danced with such abandonment and merriment. No matter what we disagree about or who we disagree with, today I am going to remember that astrologers laughed and danced together like never before in India. For a few hours, the astrology community boogied together and enjoyed each other's company whether they used the sidereal or the tropical zodiac.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope we will remember that it is totally possible to put our differences aside and just boogie with the chaos. I hope we can do it again in 2020.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

When I got on the plane (during Mercury retrograde AND a super full Moon) to come to India in early December, I had pretty much accepted there would be no "Hark the Herald Angles Sing" for me. The Christmas season in the UK had just about started in earnest and to be honest, I really wasn't all that fussed about not seeing any reindeer. To me it just seemed like a small price to pay for the adventure of a lifetime! I could sing along with the Christmas carols on youtube.<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Churi and I rocking around a Christmas Tree in Kolkata</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
But as Christmas loomed closer, I started to get little pangs of missing the ho ho hos, the excitement of the children and that two week break. It didn't last too long--we've been working very hard here and I just got into the swing of things to the point I kept forgetting the Western world was starting to shut down for the holiday. And then one evening, I noticed there WERE Christmas lights starting to appear. And Christmas trees!<br />
On reflection, my surprise is pretty silly. We celebrate Diwali, Chinese New Year, Eid and Hanukkah in London so why would I think Christmas wouldn't be celebrated or at the very least acknowledged in India? I mean <i>globalisation</i>, right?<br />
In my own defence, it is abundantly clear that East and West view the world in completely different ways. The biggest difference? The West looks at the East as its poorest relation I think. Westerners look at every day life here in India and feel a sense of pity because of the poverty.<br />
Just hold that thought for a moment.<br />
A sense of pity because of the poverty.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Churni, Gopal and I with a reindeer or two</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
My experiences in India have taught me that there are two kinds of poverty: a material one and a poverty of the spirit. It's like the West is trained to look at the outside and the East is trained to look past outward appearances. I see the Western perception of "poverty" here but I also see tremendous joy and gratitude. I love the way nothing is really broken and thrown away: anything can be fixed here. I like it that life is seen as inter-connected: astrology, palmistry, gemology and yoga are just branches of the same discipline. Life is "modern" here and I can't think of a single thing that I miss (other than people which something different altogether).<br />
<br />
Of course with the conference coming up, it's all very hectic and as a first time organiser of such a major international event, it's a very steep learning curve. My laptop sure is getting a workout. I hope it lasts! So from me to you, the Merriest Solstice how ever you celebrate it!<br />

Saturn will soon be in Capricorn and everyone's talking out it. OK, the astrologers are talking about it.<br />
<br />
It's big shift all right and usually some sort of symbolism makes its way to the front pages of the international newspapers when Saturn changes signs. Remember "Je suis Charlie?" just as Saturn lurched back and forth over the cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius at the end of 2014? Saturn in Sagittarius began with our need to speak our Truth and it will end with a lot of us wondering what the point of all that truth seeking was about. The planet is a mess, politics are mess, the internet is a mess. . .now what do we do with all this "truth"?<br />
<br />
Articles about Saturn ingresses are plentiful and I sure do have my hands full here in India with our <a href="http://ivcconference.com/registration-details/">astrology conference</a> coming up. So I hope no one minds that I don't rake over the usual stuff. Instead I want to write about something far more important: the educational system.<br />
<br />
Most people come to me for astrological advice because they want something to change. No one comes to me to tell me how wonderful life is. For example:<br />
<br />
1) My child won't behave. How can I get them to behave?<br />
2) My classes are a nightmare. How do I get my pupils to behave?<br />
3) My husband/wife is doing x. How do I get them to stop?<br />
<br />
My answer, in short, is to turn those questions on their ear. Instead of looking to the other person, look to oneself. At the very least what a client comes up with are a few options, some of which will be far more reasonable than others. An astrologer will no doubt hear the client's Saturn speaking (always an amazing thing to behold). The client will soon realise that they are not as disempowered as they had assumed. There's work to be done!<br />
<br />
And this really is what Saturn is all about: stepping up to the plate, eyeballing the pitch and then deciding how to play it. It's taking on the responsibility for one's own actions. Saturn isn't about making life cozy. It's looking at problems and deciding what to do about them.<br />
<br />
This is rather going to be the theme as we approach Saturn in Capricorn season.<br />
<br />
However, as I see it, the Saturn in Capricorn ingress will bring with it huge changes in the educational system.<br />
<br />
And it's about goddamn time.<br />
<br />
Look around at social media. There goes a teacher complaining about workload (sorry), there goes a parent complaining that their child's learning needs aren't being met, there goes a politician complaining that they're not getting enough bang for their buck from teachers so it's time to change the curriculum (again), there goes a child complaining about bullying (in whatever form), boredom and homework whose voice falls on the deaf ears of parents, teachers and politicians who are too wrapped up in their own concerns to do something about it.<br />
<br />
Let that last point be the one that bends your disbelieving knee to the call of Saturn.<br />
<br />
Saturn is the co-ruler of Aquarius. I know our Aquarian friends like to boast about their Uranian qualities but for thousands of years before Uranus was discovered, they too were ruled by Saturn. Under their zaniness lies a deep fear (Saturn) that their contributions are not as useful as they would like them to be.<br />
<br />
Here too is another key to understanding Saturn: the need for practicality.<br />
<br />
As we approach 2020, the year of the next Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius (ruled by BOTH Saturn and Uranus), I really do think there will be huge reforms in education. This structure we have upheld for hundreds of years cannot continue to stand as it is. And the changes will be profound. . .<br />
<br />
1) Currently pupils suffer under the factory model school system originally meant for workers of the industrial revolution. We teach them that "being good" is about sitting down and shutting up. That we must all work at the same pace and reach the same objectives.<br />
2) Currently parents are kept in the dark about their child's real progress. "Being involved" usually means coming to the school's Christmas concert or showing up at Parents' evening rather than understanding how the curriculum works and where their child's aptitude does or does not fit into it.<br />
3) Currently teachers are expected to put up with outrageous working conditions. . .because it's the only system they know too!! The "standard" school teacher (under 30, female and for whatever reason deemed not suitable for management) manages 30 children at one time, dances to the tune Ousted* plays (oh don't get me started on Ofsted!) and has been conditioned to keep quiet about injustices.<br />
<br />
Whispers of outrage have already begun and please dear Goddess let me have the strength to lead the astrological charge!! Hear my Saturn in Pisces speak??!! And I wasn't even trying. . .(haha).<br />
<br />
To get more good teachers, we need to treat them better!! We need to ask why only 45% of them stay in the profession 5 years after qualifying. More teachers=smaller classrooms. More home-based (online) education= parents understanding their own child's learning needs. More lessons that truly cater to a child's learning needs= adults who become independent thinkers rather than drones who are punished for opening up about what they want!<br />
<br />
Saturn in Capricorn urges you to get to grips with your own Saturn, to face up to your fears and know that they are not insurmountable. Saturn in Capricorn urges you to accept your limitations and to do something about them. Saturn in Capricorn looks at the current structures that we have always relied on and realises the foundations are showing signs of collapse.<br />
<br />
It's time to come in like a wrecking ball!!<br />
<br />
You have two choices: Get up and fight or roll over and die!<br />
<br />
There will be no comfort as we fight the good fight. As the old (slightly modified) saying goes: you'll have al the comfort you want in the grave!<br />
<br />
A hard reign's gonna fall but personally I can't wait for the flowers.<br />

* "Ousted" is a typo for "Ofsted" or the managing body of teaching inspectors. I was going to correct it then thought it was extremely fitting! Or maybe even wishful thinking!<br />
